Counseling is a process that requires the individual to work with a therapist to resolve crisis or conflicts that may arise internally or externally with others, in the workplace or at home.

Our counseling approach incorporates physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the person. Therefore mental health issues and any related medication and their effects will be acknowledged and appropriate referrals will be made as needed. Also, your personal values and cultural uniqueness will be respected as a key part of the counseling process.

Our service will work with you to identify ways of resolving your internal or external conflict or crisis through empowerment. Empowerment means to enable someone to exercise his or her authority. Sage Counseling will support and guide you as you process the problem, set safe personal boundaries and utilize the skills of self-assessment/reflection to identify concrete goals.

You will be required to learn new skills and develop personal insight. You may need to complete homework assignments that help you overcome obstacles and resolve conflicts that stop you from achieving personal success and family and work place priorities. Clients will be encouraged to examine their value system and draw on their strengths, abilities and spiritual resources to achieve both short and long term goals.

There will be an initial intake assessment that helps to establish crisis issues and concrete problems. We live in fast-paced society where change is constant. Major moves, job relocation, financial crisis, emotional loss, peer pressure, family violence, the stress of balancing work and family and health issues or chemical dependency can all contribute to human brokenness. We’re all human and need support as we find solutions for meeting our full potential.
